Accredited members meet the following standards: -
1. Proven Expertise: Demonstrate both theoretical and practical knowledge through examinations in acoustics for sound insulation testing.
2. Insurance: Hold both Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
3. Certified Equipment: Use UKAS-calibrated sound insulation testing equipment.
4. Test Procedure: Carry out testing in accordance with BS EN ISO 140-4: 1998 & BS EN ISO 717-1: 1997 for airborne sound transmission, and BS EN ISO 140-7: 1998 & BS EN ISO 717-2: 1997, for impact sound transmission.
5. Documents: Hold locally all relevant documents.
6. Auditing: Be Subject to Auditing (at least annually).
